The trick that improved my play in her was adopting Stealth - Survival Build and try to get those ideal 14-15km shots in. Unless it was some stationary or bow camping BB, I was useless trying to hit targets from 17km out.
The problem for NC is how floaty the shells are the further you try to fight.Ī big mistake I made when getting NC, my first Tier VIII Battleship from years ago, was that I tried to be a Sniper. 15km IMO is the sweet spot for her in general engagements. North Carolina is a medium or shorter range oriented Battleship. We have a lot of people with time and a POV.
You can post a replay of your troubled performance. Positioning, map awareness, to charging without help behind you. Should I try switching it up? I really want to enjoy this ship and put in the work it takes to become skilled with it and also want to continue on to the Montana, I just hope I dont have the same issues with it. on all other ships I usually aim right above the waterline with AP rounds. My issue is not incorrect lead as my shots always bracket the target, landing in front and behind on the same salvo. I know the guns are very low in the velocity department. I also have refrained from playing the Alabama until i learn how to become an asset to my team with the NC as they are almost identical. So I am not here to whine or try and vent, I am here to ask for advice. But since it seems like it has just gone to crap. I swear the first 2 games I was amazed at how hard the guns hit and the accuracy. But once I get closer I get focused down really quick. I know the play style is a bit different than the rest so I have tried to play less aggressive and stick to a supporting role early game but it seems like I can't hit crap if I stay at medium-long range. Now that I am sailing the North Carolina I feel like I am struggling and not playing to the level I am use to with the earlier ships. Everyone talked about how horrible the New York, New Mexico, and Colorado were but i really enjoyed them. If you can't tell I am a big fan of the US battleships. I also have the Arkansas, Texas, Arizona, and Alabama. So I finally researched and bought the North Carolina after playing my way up the line.
